We operate and primarily serve customers in the European Union and we are fully compliant with (General Data Protection Regulation) ("GDPR") and take all the steps necessary to ensure the data you share with us is minimal and safeguarded. Personal Information Related to Booking a journey via Cruise Ferry

Based on immigration and customs regulations along with cruise ferry operators ("operators") requirements, FerryScan will need to collect personal information from you. When you give information via our secure booking form, you are consenting to the controlling and processing of your personal data. We will need to share that information with operators who may process your data further and potential share that data with relevant third-parties and governments. The Service does not sell your information or use it for any other purpose other than booking your journey with an operator. We may get compensated by third-parties for the referral of your booking, but we do not share your information with other parties than the one's outlined in this privacy policy.

We secure your data via state of the art encryption and use a high quality cloud services provider based in the European Union ("EU"). Your data will not leave the EU for the purposed of booking your journey via FerryScan, however after we process your data and pass it on securely to operators, we cannot be responsible for misuse of your data. Please refer to the specific operator's policy you are using and demand transparecy from them if they are lacking on clarity on how they use your data. If you find that an operator is misleading or misuing your data, please let us know as well so we can try to help our customers use the safest operators for their journeys and not undergoe any unnessesary financial or mental hardship.

Email Marketing and Retargeting

If you opt-in to email marketing, you will ocassionally recieve updates from us about relevent trips, information, or services about the Service. We will not share your email with third parties but may use the MailChimp application (MailChimp privacy policy) to better manage our email lists and your options to change your email marketing preferences. If you desire to change the amount of marketing you recieve from us you may either change your preferences at the bottom of the messages you receive from us or contact us.

If you have interacted with our website in the past, we may show you relevant ads through our ad partners (Google Ads and Bing Ads) when you go on different websites. This is called Retargeting and is meant to reconnect with you so we may best fulfill your travel needs. If you would not like to receive retargeting ads, you may click the Ad Choices on the bottom of the Ad you are seeing and opt-out of targeted advertising. You may also visit your search engine's targeted advertising opt-out page and opt-out, or switch your browser to use a search engine that doesn't do targeted advertising like DuckDuckGo.

Data Retention
